Mill Hill International School Thailand respectfully commemorated the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother with a school-wide mourning ceremony held on the morning of Thursday, 30 October 2025.

In preparation for this occasion, the school set up a dedicated remembrance area to honour Her Majesty’s lifelong devotion to the Thai people and her enduring contributions to the nation. Pupils, teachers, supporting staff, and members of the leadership team gathered together in a spirit of unity, reverence, and reflection.

The ceremony was led by Mrs. Kate Simon, Head of School, who addressed the school community and spoke of Her Majesty’s remarkable legacy, her compassion, and her unwavering service to Thailand. This was followed by a minute of silence, during which the entire community stood together to pay their respects.

As part of the ceremony, Jack Ticehurst, a Year 6 pupil, delivered a reading of Her Majesty’s biography, demonstrating confidence, maturity, and deep respect befitting the significance of the occasion. The leadership team then signed the Book of Condolence as a formal expression of the school’s gratitude and remembrance.

Throughout the ceremony, pupils conducted themselves with calmness, dignity, and understanding, reflecting the school’s core values of compassion, respect, and reverence. The event served not only as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, but also as an important learning moment, helping pupils appreciate Thai history, culture, and the importance of honouring national figures.
