- Marvellous Middle Adventure: Learning with the Police

Mill Hill International School Thailand was delighted to welcome local police officers to the school as part of a creative and engaging Marvellous Middle experience for our Salamanders (Year 1) and Hornbills (Year 2) pupils.
The learning adventure began with an exciting classroom mystery when a much-loved penguin toy was discovered to be missing. This imaginative scenario quickly captured pupils’ interest and curiosity, setting the scene for a memorable learning experience. With the arrival of the police officers, pupils were introduced to the important role that the police play in keeping communities safe, both in Thailand and around the world.
During the visit, the officers shared age-appropriate information about their responsibilities, the importance of teamwork, and how they help others in their daily work. Pupils had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions and were fascinated to see police equipment demonstrated first-hand, allowing learning to come alive through real-world connections.
This Marvellous Middle experience strongly supported the Primary curriculum by encouraging first-hand learning, critical thinking, and communication skills. It also helped pupils develop an understanding of community roles, personal safety, and respect for those who serve the public. Through this engaging activity, pupils were able to explore early career awareness while building confidence and curiosity in a safe and supportive environment.
At Mill Hill International School Thailand, we believe that imaginative learning experiences and community partnerships play a vital role in enriching the curriculum. This visit from the police provided an unforgettable blend of learning and enjoyment, reinforcing our commitment to inspiring pupils through meaningful, real-life experiences.
We extend our sincere thanks to the local police officers for their time, generosity, and support in making this Marvellous Middle truly memorable for our pupils.
