- Stunning Start! Exciting first week back in Year 2

It has been an exciting first week back in Year 2!
The children arrived on Monday wondering why their classrooms had been decorated with pumpkins. They soon discovered that their new book focus is Pattan’s Pumpkin, an Indian flood story which links beautifully with our new Amazing Asia topic as well as the Mill Hill Mindset. After retelling and acting out the story, the children took part in an immersive adventure, following clues around the school to help Pattan find his lost pumpkins. Their journey led them to the Forest School, where they discovered that, as part of the challenge, some local animals had supposedly taken the pumpkins and dropped them around the forest. The children worked together to recover them all and used their creative thinking to find a way to carry the heavy load back to the kitchen for a taste test. This “stunning start” is an example of Mill Hill’s creative curriculum in action, bringing learning to life through cooperative and memorable experiences.
