- The British Way: Launch of the House System

Mill Hill International School Thailand proudly marked the final day of our first half term with a special whole-school Assembly to celebrate the launch of our House System—a long-standing and much-loved tradition within British education.
The House System plays an important role in fostering a strong sense of community, belonging, and shared identity across the school. From Nursery to Year 6, every pupil is allocated to one of our four Houses: Willow, Oak, Sycamore, and Beech. Each House is represented by a colour and symbol that reflects values such as growth, strength, resilience, and unity, encouraging pupils to support one another and take pride in being part of a team.
The launch Assembly was a memorable occasion, filled with excitement and anticipation as pupils took part in the traditional House Selection process. The moment when the House Selection Hat revealed each pupil’s House added a sense of magic and joy, creating an experience that pupils will remember fondly as they begin their journey within the House community.
Throughout the academic year, the House System will provide pupils with opportunities to work collaboratively, demonstrate leadership, and earn House points through academic effort, positive behaviour, and participation in sporting, creative, and community activities. This structure supports pupils’ personal development by promoting teamwork, responsibility, and healthy competition, while reinforcing the school’s core values.
At Mill Hill International School Thailand, we are proud to embrace British educational traditions that enrich pupil life and strengthen our school culture. The introduction of the House System marks an important milestone in our school’s development and sets a strong foundation for building community spirit and character as we move forward together.
